GERMAN DELEGATION KEEN TO COLLABORATE WITH NDDB

Anand, 21 January 2015: Mr Otto Lattwesen, Head of the Supervisory Board & Head of the Supervisory Board Masterrind, Cooperative Dairy Farmer accompanied by Dr Philipp Inderhees, Head of Sustainability, Dr Dirk Gloy, Managing Director Operations / Logistics and Ms Dagmar Bottenbruch, Member of the Advisory Board, Consultant on the India Cooperation Project from DMK Deutsches Milchkontor GmbH, Germany visited National Dairy Development Board, Anand during 18-20, January 2015.

NDDB’s achievements and the various initiatives for dairy development were shown through a multimedia presentation. The delegation interacted with Shri T Nanda Kumar, Chairman NDDB and other officials on possible avenues of Indo-German cooperation in the areas of training & development, cooperative governance, genomics, sex semen technology and product formulation. Shri T Nanda Kumar said that cooperative dairying is an instrument for socio-economic change and means to create opportunities for substantial employment, additional incomes and more equitable growth. They were impressed with the innovations introduced by NDDB.

The delegation took keen interest in IDMC Ltd’s (a wholly owned subsidiary of NDDB) units that manufacture dairy equipment and packaging film. The team visited Sabarmati Ashram Gaushala, Bidaj (largest state-of-the-art semen station in the country) and Banas Dairy, Palanpur. They also interacted with the beneficiaries of NDDB’s Ration Balancing Programme at Banaskantha. The German delegation would be briefed about the projects on production of High Genetic Merit Bulls through Progeny Testing and Pedigree Selection programme being implemented by Karnataka Milk Federation, Karnataka and Milkfed, Punjab between 21 and 23 January 2015.
