a) Wet chemistry
The analysis of milk and milk products, fats & Oils and animal feed & ingredients is carried out in Wet Chemistry laboratory. The milk products are tested as per the defined parameter in relevant Indian standards and for various adulterants.
The compounded cattle feed, raw ingredients and fodders are tested for proximate principles.
Infrastructure: includes the automatic instruments like Soxtherm, Kjeltherm, Fibretherm, centrifuges, NIR, refractometers etc.
b) Inorganic Analysis
Infrastructure: includes ICP-MS, ICP-OES, microwave muffle furnaces, microwave digestion systems, FTIR and Ion analyser.
c) Chromatographic Analysis
The various type of products are tested for -:
Nutritional Parameters: Vitamins (A, D, E), sugar profile (lactose, glucose, sucrose), amino acid profile, fatty acids profile and cholesterol in dairy and food products.
Contaminants: Mycotoxins (B1, B2, G1, G2 and M1), melamine, veterinary drug residues and pesticides.
Infrastructure: High performance liquid chromatography systems (HPLC) with PDA, Fluorescence and RI Detectors, Amino acid derivatization unit, Gas Chromatography systems with FID, ECD and FPD Detectors, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FTIR).
