Ketosis
Occurs in lactating animals usually during the first 2 months of lactation.Milk production may be reduced by up to 25%.
Common symptoms: Decrease feed intake and firm mucous covered dung, pica, marked weight loss, staggering gait etc. To avoid ketosis, animal should be properly fed during late lactation and dry period. Sudden change of feed / overfeeding should be avoided.
