Inducting a new animal into the herd

A newly purchased animal should be kept in isolation, without contact with other animals, for at least for 3 weeks. Carry out routine deworming, fluke treatment (based on endemicity) and vaccination during the period of quarantine.

Testing during quarantine:

Test for SCM (in milk animal)

Test for Brucella

Test for bovine TB

Test for Johne’s disease
