NDDB, Suzuki R & D Center inks MoU to provide clean energy solutions and organic fertilisers
Anand, August 29, 2022: With the objective to achieve carbon neutrality and enhance income of dairy farmers, National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and Suzuki R&D Center India Pvt Ltd (SRDI), an Indian subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan inked an MoU to propagate cattle dung-based biogas plants for generation of Compressed Biomethane Gas (CBG) as energy source for mobility and production of organic fertilisers by leveraging the strength of our cooperative network.
Shri Meenesh Shah, Chairman, NDDB and Mr Kazuto Kasahara, Director, SRDI signed the MoU in the presence of Mr T Suzuki, President, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Mr Kazunobu Hori, Senior Executive Officer and Mr Kenichiro Toyofuku, Director in Gandhinagar on 28 August, 2022.
On the occasion, Chairman, NDDB said coming together of two Institutions - NDDB and Suzuki is critical for moving towards carbon neutrality by designing & developing innovative business models for efficiently utilising cow dung as a source of energy & fertiliser and enhancing farmers’ income.
Mr Suzuki appreciated NDDB’s efforts in this domain and also thanked Chairman, NDDB for agreeing to collaborate in this initiative. He reaffirmed commitment of Suzuki Motor Corporation to provide affordable and clean transport solutions in India.
Later, in the presence of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as Chief Guest at an event organised to commemorate 40 years of Suzuki Motor Corporation in India, Shri Bhupendra Patel, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Gujarat appreciated NDDB and SRDI for executing an MoU to provide clean energy solutions and organic fertilisers.
